Quick capture notes to Logseq on iPhone

Looking for a quick and efficient way to capture notes on your iPhone using Logseq? You’ve come to the right place. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process step by step. Whether you want to add notes to your daily journals or a specific page, we’ve got you covered.

Prerequisites: iPhone, Logseq vault stored in iCloud.

Step 0. Decide whether you want your notes to be added to your daily journals or a specific page. I’m kinda worried about possible syncing issues when using journals, so I opt for a separate page. In this case create a page in LS to add notes to. ‘mobile’ for example. Shortcut will be appending your notes to this page.

Step 1. Install Save to Logseq shortcut.

Scan using your iPhone’s camera to download the shortcut

You’ll need to configure the shortcut: tell it where you store Logseq Vault. Typically it’s at ‘iCloud/Logseq’.

Secondly, put down a path to the destination page. In my case it’s pages/mobile.md.

Here’s how it looks:

Step 2. Install ‘Text to Logseq Inbox’ shortcut

This one needed to ask for text input to add to inbox.

It will show you a small popup window to enter text and submit that text to the shortcut from step 1. You can set your iPhone to respond to a double back tap with opening this shortcut by going to Settings > Accessibility > Touch > Back Tap.

And there you have it! You can now quickly jot down new ideas to your Logseq vault on the go.
